Cocktails in the Garden
Date: Every Thursday night, May - September
Time: 6 - 10 p.m.
Every Thursday night from May - September cocktails are paired with a featured flower or plant
highlighting different and unique locations in the Garden. Guests mix and mingle to the Garden DJ's
best beats as one of the city's hottest restaurants provides light tastings. Admission is $12 for
non-members and free for Garden members.

Friday Night Jazz
Friday Jazz is an evening of art & music every third Friday of the month, including live musical performances and
extended hours to view special exhibitions. Friday Jazz is Atlanta's most unique jazz venue—voted "Best Jazz
Alternative Venue" by Atlanta Magazine and "Best of Atlanta" by Creative Loafing. Food and drink are available

Detroit born guitarist/composer Dan Baraszu has been playing guitar for over 25 years. Early in his career,
he explored many different styles of music including classical, rock and blues. However, when he first heard
the genius of jazz guitarist Wes Montgomery, Dan devoted himself to becoming a die-hard jazz artist. His
major influences include guitarists Joe Pass, Pat Martino, Pat Metheny and John Scofield as well as other
instrumentalists like Bill Evans, Horace Silver, John Coltrane, Sonny Rollins and Charlie Parker.

Spring & Summer Festivals Happening Throughout Atlanta
Georgia Renaissance Festival: The largest themed festival in the Southeast, with plenty of colorful costumes,
great food, and fun for the whole family. The festival is conveniently located just 8 miles south of Hartsfield
International Airport. Now through June 1, 2008.
Shake at the Lake: This fun and exciting theatre event takes place on the pier at Lake Clara Meer in Piedmont
Park. The free event still requires a ticket that can be picked up at locations around Atlanta.
Sweet Auburn Spring Fest: This annual celebration in Atlanta's historic African American neighborhood honors
the accomplishments of those who in the past who founded the thriving business community of Auburn Street,
while encouraging the preservation and revitalization of the area. 10 stages of entertainment, an artists
market, urban film screenings, a bridal expo, a business/technology expo, carnival and literary festival
provide fun and education.
Atlanta Jazz Festival: A Memorial Day weekend tradition, and a cool way to usher in the sultry Atlanta summer
season, the Atlanta Jazz Festival brings together local, national, and international talent to the stage at
Piedmont Park in Midtown Atlanta, free of charge. Past performers include jazz vocalist Cassandra Wilson and
violinist Regina Carter. Special jazz performances throughout the month of May will be held at venues all
across metro Atlanta. (Due to drought, the event has been moved to Woodruff Park).
Screen on the Green: Popular outdoor film series in Piedmont Park, Midtown Atlanta. Every Thursday evening
in June. (In 2008, moving to Centennial Olympic Park due to drought).
Summerfest: The funky, artsy community of Virginia Highlands puts on an annual festival that is popular
both with residents and visitors to Atlanta. Activities include live music, an artists market, and fun
for the kids. Held on Virginia Avenue in the heart of the Highlands.
