ATLANTA NEIGHBORHOODS
ANSLEY PARK: is a prestigious residential area in the heart of Midtown Atlanta. Ansley Park is within walking
distance of the Midtown Arts District, fine dining and Piedmont Park. Ansley Park is also conveniently located
near Downtown, Buckhead and all major interstates.
BROOKHAVEN: is located just north of Buckhead while bring inside the Perimeter (I-285). Brookhaven has the
following neighborhoods: Drew Valley, Ashford Park, Brookhaven Heights, Hillsdale, Pine Hills, Brookhaven
Renaissance, Brookhaven Fields, Brookhaven Village, Lynwood Park.
BROOKWOOD HILLS: is one of Atlanta's first neighborhoods with many homes being on the National Registry of
Historic Places. Brookwood Hills is conveniently located to Midtown and Buckhead via Peachtree.
BUCKHEAD: is a large area inside the Perimeter to the north that includes dozens of exclusive neighborhoods
such as: Peachtree Hills, Ardmore Park, Collier Hills, Margaret Mitchell, Peachtree Park, and Underwood Hills
to name a few. Buckhead also encompasses Atlanta's most exclusive shopping at Phipps Plaza and Lenox and a
multitude of fine dining options such as Chops, Bones, Panos & Pauls, and The Palm.
CABBAGE TOWN: is a historic neighborhood located to the east of Downtown Atlanta. Cabbage Town was constructed
around the Fulton Cotton and Bag Mill. The neighborhood includes the restaurants Carroll Street Café and Agave
which makes for great dining and people watching! Also, near by is the Historic Oakland Cemetery and the
award-winning Zoo Atlanta.
CANDLER PARK: is on the National Registry of Historic Places and was one of Atlanta's first neighborhoods.
Candler Park is located about 5 miles to the east of Downtown Atlanta and just south of famed Ponce de Leon
Avenue. The neighborhood is chock full of restaurants, bars, and artists. It's a very eclectic and unique
neighborhood.
CHASTAIN PARK: is located between Buckhead to the south and Sandy Springs to the north. The park itself is
a 158 acre park that includes an 18 hole golf course, Chastain Park Ampitheatre, baseball fields and horse
park. Chastain Park is surrounded by beautiful residential neighborhoods such as, Long Island, Cherokee Park,
Blackland, Brookside Park, Carlton Woods and Tuxedo.
DECATUR: is located to the east of Downtown Atlanta along famed Ponce de Leon Avenue and near the Emory
University campus. Decatur contains four historic districts, Agnes Scott College and many sought-after
neighborhoods such as Winnona Park, Sagamore Hills, Sycamore Ridge, Adair Park and Towne Square.
DOWNTOWN ATLANTA: this area is undergoing a resurgence of residential population. Downtown contains the
largest business district in the city, as well as, many high-end hotels (The W Hotel, The Ritz Carlton and The
Glenn) and numerous fine dining options.
DRUID HILLS: is home to many historical and culturally significant landmarks, as well as, where "Driving Miss
Daisy" was filmed. The neighborhood is an exclusive address with a stunning blend of architecture located to
the east of Downtown Atlanta near the Emory University campus. As a matter of fact, renowned designer Frank
Olmsted laid out the neighborhood around a chain of linear parks along Ponce de Leon Avenue.
EAST ATLANTA: is an area located to the east of Downtown Atlanta and just south of I-20. East Atlanta Village
is a section that includes restaurants, bars and shopping, which is surrounded by residential areas. East
Atlanta is made up of Ormewood Park, Grant Park, and Brownwood Park neighborhoods.
GARDEN HILLS: is located in Buckhead between Peachtree and Piedmont, bordered to the north by Pharr Road and
to the south by East Wesley and is comprised of a multitude of styles. The neighborhood is quite upscale and
includes 3 parks and the Garden Hills Pool.
GRANT PARK: is the oldest city park in Atlanta and has two major attractions: The Atlanta Zoo and the Atlanta
Cyclorama. Grant Park is Atlantas largest historic neighborhood. Grant Park is located to the east of Downtown
Atlanta and south of I-20.
INMAN PARK: is a Historic Registry neighborhood located just two miles east of Downtown Atlanta. Inman Park
was Atlanta's first planned community. Each year Inman parks hosts thousands of people to the Spring Festival
and Tour of Homes, a weekend long celebration including a parade, artist market and open houses.
KIRKWOOD: is located to the east of Downtown Atlanta and just north of I-20. Kirkwood has a very rich history
and is on the National Registry of Historic Places. Kirkwood has a rich diversity of home styles, which is a
sign of its history.
LAKE CLAIRE: is a neighborhood without a lake!! The name was derived from the intersection of Lakeshore Drive
and Claire Drive. Located to the east of Downtown Atlanta and while located in the City of Atlanta, Lake Claire
is in Dekalb County not Fulton County. The architecture is diverse with post Victorian style homes such as
Craftsman bungalows to '50s cottages to modern designs.
LITTLE 5 POINTS: is an area to the east of Downtown Atlanta and is named after a junction of 5 streets at the
heart of the area. "L5P" is home to an eclectic business community and a vibrant residential area.
MIDTOWN ATLANTA: is a vibrant, cosmopolitan area located between Buckhead and Downtown. There are a multitude
of entertainment options: fine dining, arts, theatre and Piedmont Park. It's also a hub for commercial
endeavors, as well. The architecture includes high-rise condos, turn of the century residential and boutique
condominium buildings.
MORNINGSIDE/LENOX PARK: just north of Virginia-Highland, many of the homes are either Tudor or English County
styles. The neighborhood boasts one of the city's most highly regarded public schools, Morningside Elementary.
OAKHURST: this neighborhood is just to the south Decatur and includes residential and a popular "downtown"
area. There are 3 parks located in Oakhurst. The neighborhood style is predominantly Arts & Crafts bungalows
with a few ranch styles homes and some new construction.
ORMEWOOD PARK: located between Grant Park, East Atlanta Village and the new Glenwood Park. The neighborhood
consists of Craftsman style bungalows.
PEACHTREE HILLS: lies just to the east of Peachtree Road in Buckhead. Peachtree Hills is an eclectic blend of
colorful bungalows with many lovely, old-growth trees.
SONO DISTRICT: a rapidly growing, cosmopolitan district between Midtown and Downtown Atlanta.; just to the south
of North Avenue. SONO is short for South of North, just like New York City's SOHO (South of Houston). It includes
a mixture of loft living and luxury condos. Enjoy walking to fine dining, nite clubs and the arts.
VININGS: is an affluent area to the northwest of the city yet still inside of the Perimeter. This area includes
upscale residential, shopping and dining. With much new development under way, Vinings will continue to thrive.
VIRGINIA-HIGHLAND: Historic Virginia-Highland (Va-Hi) is a neighborhood with divers shopping, dining and night
life. VA-HI was developed in the early 1900's and consists of seven distinct commercial area with short, walkable
blocks of charming bungalows. The neighborhood's name was derived from the intersection of Virginia and Highland
Avenues.
WEST MIDTOWN: Atlanta's new trendy area with killer condo and loft conversions. West Midtown is home to some of
the city's hippest new restaurants, galleries and theatres.
